Privacy policy

The short version

Browsing this site is anonymous. The overtime calculator and the wage theft checkup run entirely in your browser: your hours, pay, and answers are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere. The only time we collect personal information is when you submit an inquiry form yourself, and we tell you exactly what happens to it below.

Calculators and the checkup

All computation happens on your device. Our analytics record event names only (for example, "a calculation was completed" or "a red verdict was shown"), never your inputs, answers, or anything that identifies you. Server logs kept by our hosting provider (Vercel) may record IP addresses for security and are retained per their standard policy.

Prevailing wage lookups

Rate lookups send only the county and project type you select, so we can return the state's published numbers. We do not store your lookup or associate it with you.

Attorney inquiries

If you submit an attorney inquiry, we collect the name, contact information, and description you provide, plus the optional context questions you chose to answer (employer size, whether coworkers seem affected, whether the practice is documented, and which checkup topics you chose to include). Your inquiry may be sent to one participating Minnesota attorney who handles wage claims so they can contact you, which is the purpose of the form. Participating attorneys may pay to receive inquiries. Attorney inquiries travel a separate compliance track: they are never sold as marketing leads, and no attorney-client relationship exists unless you and the attorney agree to one.

Where your situation involves a work injury, the form says plainly that the inquiry goes to Dan Swenson at Robert Wilson & Associates, the attorney who builds this site.

Each submission records the exact consent language you agreed to, the time, and technical details (a hashed IP address and browser type) so the consent is verifiable afterward.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers. Our own analytics store whitelisted event names only, with no inputs or identifiers attached. Basic, aggregate traffic analytics may be collected by our hosting provider.

Data removal

To have an inquiry deleted, contact us and include the phone number or email you submitted so we can locate the record.
